Oct 2020 - GI & NO GI
Starting for Oct, we wanted to introduce a systematic guard system as well as some basic concepts around maneuvering around side control. In addition we wanted to emphasize a good foundation when starting a match from the feet, this is where we worked on proper but basic foot sweeps, double leg and single entries from standing.
Curriculum for Oct 2020:
Double Leg takedown
Double Leg Takedown to knee slice

Single Leg takedown (Andre Galvao)
Christian double leg to knee slice to settle into side control, kimura.
Mission Control - Scissor sweep same side lapel as knee up with wrist control
- 3 Sweeps (lift, push knee, butterfly hook sweep, near side foot pull & technical standup)
Judo takedowns Ouchi Gari, Kouchi Gari, Kouchi Gari Maki Komi
Takedown - figher stance, push the shoulder, pick the knee and put between leg
Misson Control if Opponent has elbows tight, use cross grip collar and wrist control on same side
- go to outside elbow with knee with scissor, strip the grip to Triangle
- go to outside elbow with knee with scissor, strip the grip but opponent cycles arm out go to your sweeps
- keep your collar grip through sweep, climb high bring other hand across for mounted cross collar
Standard Judo/BJJ Grips - Power and Control
-knuckles curled on sleeve of opponent power hand, push down, head in and step back stripping grip, maintain control to move to keep opponent away
- reach under and control cuff of sleeve on control arm of opponent, bring your power arm off and over the top of their power arm and bring elbow behind you stripping their grip, keep their hand away
Stripping Grips (two on one)
Intercept grips, keep their hands away from lapel whether left or right hand
-1) Intercept grips, maintain control with same side hand, allow opponent to turn into you grab their lapel with your power hand
-1a) same as above one grabbing lapel, move to ouchi gari
-1b) same as above, move to ouchi gari, they step out kouchi gari
